The City of Bromont is gearing up for a busy summer season with a packed calendar of cultural and recreational events, while also celebrating the opening of a major new municipal facility and preparing residents for traffic disruptions linked to a large-scale cycling event next month.
The municipality announced a diverse summer program at Place publique de Bromont, officially inaugurated its new $21-million Asset Management Centre, and issued a public notice about road closures associated with La Boucle Vidéotron on June 13.
Summer programming brings music, markets and family activities to Bromont
Bromont’s Place publique will host a wide range of free and ticketless community activities throughout the summer, including live music, dance, circus arts, public markets and outdoor fitness programming.
A new addition to the calendar is the Festival MouveMont, scheduled for July 4 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The free family-oriented event will focus on circus arts and dance, bringing together residents for a day of performances, movement and creative activities.
The Marché public du Vieux-Bromont will return every Sunday from June 29 to Oct. 12, operating from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Visitors will be able to shop for seasonal produce, cheeses, mushrooms, wines, baked goods, flowers and locally crafted products.
Music will remain a central feature of the summer lineup. Bromont Blues will present five Thursday evening concerts throughout July, featuring artists performing gospel, Chicago blues, soul, folk and outlaw country music.
The Festival international de la chanson de Granby will also make two stops in Bromont. Country artist Laurence St-Martin is scheduled to perform on Aug. 6, while Atikamekw guitarist Ivan Boivin-Flamand will take the stage on Aug. 13.
Festival Faune, now in its third edition, will host outdoor house music events on June 13, July 11 and Aug. 7-8. Organizers describe the festival as a gathering place blending urban culture with regional audiences through DJ performances, food and beverages.
Meanwhile, EXPO Vague Urbaine will return on Aug. 15 with performances by local and emerging musicians, DJs, artists and food vendors in a celebration of underground culture.
Residents will also have access to free activities on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays throughout July and August, including country dancing, mushroom workshops, storytelling sessions and cardio-strength training programs.

New $21-million Asset Management Centre officially opens
The City of Bromont officially inaugurated its new Asset Management Centre on May 22 in the presence of Brome-Missisquoi MNA Isabelle Charest.
The project carries a total cost of $21 million, including $5.7 million in funding from Quebec’s Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing through the Programme d’amélioration et de construction d’infrastructures municipales (PRACIM).
Located at 24 rue du Pacifique Est, the facility consolidates several municipal departments under one roof, including water management, operations, engineering, major projects and elements of sustainable territory management.
Municipal officials said the consolidation is intended to improve coordination across services responsible for maintaining Bromont’s extensive infrastructure network, which includes 205 kilometres of roads, 29 municipal buildings, 48 parks and green spaces, 95 kilometres of sewer lines, 105 kilometres of water mains and 180 kilometres of trails, cycling paths and sidewalks.
The building was designed with long-term growth in mind, accommodating future expansion of municipal services, vehicle fleets and staffing needs.
Sustainability measures were integrated into the project, including a wood structural system, electric heating technologies, reduced reliance on fossil fuels and the use of durable building materials. Energy-efficiency features include heat recovery systems and a heat pump as the primary heating source.
According to the city, the environmental measures are expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 74.5 tonnes annually.
The exterior of the building features Canopée, a public artwork by artist Louise deLorme. Installed on the north and east facades, the piece draws inspiration from forest landscapes and the natural environment surrounding Bromont.
Residents advised of road closures during La Boucle Vidéotron
Bromont residents are being advised to plan ahead for significant traffic disruptions when La Boucle Vidéotron passes through the city on June 13.
The cycling event will see thousands of participants ride a 135-kilometre closed-course route. To ensure safety, vehicle traffic will be prohibited in both directions on affected public roads during the cyclists’ passage.
City officials are urging residents to review neighbourhood-specific road closure schedules and adjust travel plans accordingly.
Parking along the cycling route will also be prohibited. Vehicles left in restricted areas will be subject to towing at the owner’s expense.
The event includes a community competition in which the two most welcoming municipalities along the route will receive a $10,000 grant for projects promoting healthy lifestyles, as well as a conference presentation by Pierre Lavoie.
A public information hotline, 1-844-818-4375, is available from May 10 to June 14. Additional details on the route and complete traffic impacts are available through the event’s official website.
The ride will be supervised by the Bromont Police Service and the Sûreté du Québec.
