Sherbrooke police executed a drug search warrant at 1322 Gregoire Street on May 21, resulting in multiple arrests and the seizure of cocaine, methamphetamine, crack, hydromorphone tablets, cannabis, and cash.
The operation was carried out by the Service de police de Sherbrooke’s (SPS) specialized crimes unit, including narcotics investigators and officers from the ACCES-Cannabis and ACCES-Tabac provincial enforcement programs, supported by the SPS’s tactical intervention group.
Prior to the raid, investigators documented heavy foot traffic at the address and observed individuals with known ties to cocaine trafficking operating out of the location. Several people present at the time of the search were arrested on charges of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
A vehicle was also intercepted nearby shortly after the tactical intervention group moved in. The occupant had been observed leaving the Gregoire Street address immediately beforehand and was arrested on the same trafficking-related charges.
In addition to cocaine and crack, the search yielded cannabis, methamphetamine tablets, hydromorphone tablets, electronic scales, client accounting records, and Canadian currency.
Charges expected to be filed include possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking, drug trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime, and illegal possession of cannabis. The cases will proceed by summons.
The ACCES-Cannabis program was established by the Quebec government in 2018 and is coordinated by the Ministère de la Sécurité publique. Its mandate is to suppress the illegal cannabis supply chain and reduce access to illicit cannabis, particularly among youth. The ACCES-Tabac program has operated in a similar capacity since 2001, targeting contraband tobacco.
